Everyone is obviously well-acquainted with the Royal Shakespeare Company, but there are four other fantastic venues for entertainment in Stratford, so it is well worth looking at what’s on when planning a trip to Stratford.
The Attic Theatre has been voted Stratford-upon-Avon’s No.1 Fringe Theatre, showcasing local talent on the stage and hosting theatre companies from across the country in an intimate riverside venue.
The Stratford Playhouse plays host to a comedy club and regular jazz sessions as well as plays and other musical genres.
The Bear Pit is a 100-seater “little theatre” ideally suited to the performance of many aspects of theatre as well as providing an intimate space as a community arts venue for smaller exhibitions, concerts and conversational events.
The Orchestra of the Swan presents over 45 concerts a year, breaking the mould of classical music by drawing together a diverse repertoire from the medieval 14th-century street music of La Rotta to Joy Division.
